Shamrock

Shamrock

Trifoilum repens, or White Clover (also known as Dutch Clover) is one of two or three plants that are often referred to as Shamrock.
Images of Trifolium repens are often used to celebrate St Patricks Day. It is said that when St Patrick came to Ireland to convert the Irish to Christianity he used the Shamrock, a three-leaved plant, to illustrate the Holy Trinity. The Shamrock has been considered a good luck charm by the Irish since early Celtic times.
